01 · Overview
What it is
Mandiri Taspen is a bank serving Indonesia's pension recipients — retired civil servants who have to complete a periodic biometric check-in to keep their pension payments active. The app moves that check-in off a branch visit and onto a phone, using biometric enrollment and authentication instead.
02 · My role
What I did
I worked on the mobile front end only, translating the bank's requirements into the enrollment and authentication screens. I also built a second, separate deliverable: a webview version of the same authentication flow, embedded inside Livin' by Mandiri — Bank Mandiri's main app — so existing Livin' users can complete it without installing anything extra.
03 · Problem statement
The problem
Retired civil servants had to visit a branch in person, periodically, just to prove they were still eligible for their pension — a real burden for an elderly population. The bank needed a self-service alternative reliable enough to trust with that check.
04 · What shipped
What I built
- Built the mobile front end for biometric enrollment and authentication, translating the bank's requirements into working screens.
- Built a second front end: a webview version of the same authentication flow, embedded inside Livin' by Mandiri.
- Worked with the team to keep both surfaces consistent as requirements kept arriving.
